Entrust Instant ID Card Software NZ
Entrust Instant ID software provides the tools needed to design, issue and manage secure photo ID cards and credentials. It can support anything from a single card-printing workstation through to a centrally managed, multi-user credential programme with database, smart card and system integration.
The installed software range includes Express, Plus, Professional and Enterprise. Entrust also offers Instant ID as a Service, a separate cloud-based platform for organisations wanting browser-based deployment and support for physical and mobile credentials.
Installed software or cloud service?
Entrust Instant ID Software
Installed and licensed within your organisation. It can start with one operator and scale to a centrally managed network with multiple concurrent users, shared data and more advanced integrations.
Instant ID as a Service
Entrust’s cloud-based option. It uses a browser-based interface and can support physical card issuance, mobile credentials, remote administration and connected printer management without a traditional on-premise software installation.

Instant ID Express
Basic card issuance
The entry point for straightforward card design and printing. It supports essential card-production features including photo ID design, data import, barcodes, QR codes, mobile enrolment and an embedded database.

Instant ID Plus
Enhanced single-user production
Adds advanced camera and signature capture, reporting, batch printing and support for Microsoft Access, SQL Server and MySQL databases.

Instant ID Professional
Multi-user and integrated issuance
Introduces concurrent users, central user management, document scanning, OCR-assisted data entry, Active Directory, SAML 2.0, smart card support and broader database compatibility.
Best suited to: schools, healthcare, business, government and other organisations where several authorised operators share one credential system.
Instant ID Enterprise
Advanced enterprise credential management

Entrust Instant ID is designed to work as part of an integrated card-issuance solution with Entrust printers, supplies and support. Depending on the edition and configuration, it can be used with Entrust Sigma direct-to-card printers, Artista retransfer systems and selected third-party printers.

Entrust Instant ID Software Questions
Is Instant ID Express a discontinued or legacy edition?
No. Entrust currently lists Express as one of the four Instant ID editions and specifies it as available with Sigma DSE printers.
Is Instant ID as a Service the same as Enterprise?
No. Enterprise is the highest installed Instant ID edition. Instant ID as a Service is a separate cloud-based platform with its own subscription, features and deployment model.
Can Instant ID connect to an existing database?
Yes, depending on the edition. Plus adds support for Microsoft Access, SQL Server and MySQL. Professional and Enterprise add further database and directory options.
Can the software support smart cards and access-control credentials?
Professional and Enterprise include smart-card capabilities. Enterprise adds more advanced integration tools. The exact printer encoder, card technology and system requirements must be confirmed for each project.
